Salaried GP Role in a friendly Cornish Practice – Oak Tree Surgery

Dear GPs,
We need to recruit a GP for 4-6 sessions per week including a Thursday and Friday to ensure our rota remains fully staffed into 2019 as family and personal commitments evolve in our existing team of 14 GPs covering 16,000 patients in South East Cornwall.
A typical day involves morning clinic running 08:30-11:30 followed by a coffee meeting to catch up as a team. Visits are triaged and are relatively low in number. We have a pharmacist-led team to help with med queries and well trained GP assistants to screen out tasks and path results where appropriate which makes a very noticeable dent in the admin work.
Afternoon clinic runs from 2-3pm for follow-up calls and path results, leaving the rest of the day flexible to see patients from the morning or catch up on admin. Urgent work is dealt with by a Duty team with each team member typically having 25-35 patient contacts in a day depending on how busy things are. This formula allows GPs to go home on time while working in a supportive atmosphere where work and life are well balanced.
There is a well developed research unit in house doing a range of different types of research studies, minor ops, GPs who train other medics in advanced contraception techniques and a physiotherapist that works at the practice to help triage and treat msk cases early in the disease process. We also train Registrars and F2 doctors as well as medical students. Next door to the Practice is a Minor Injuries unit and community hospital with x-ray and ultrasound facilities. We have good relations with visiting Consultants there.
A year ago we merged with a lovely country practice, Pensilva Health Centre, and we have the pleasure of working across these two great sites in a stunning geographical location near the moors.
