Forward thinking GP surgery looking for forward thinking GPs
We are looking for enthusiastic GPs who will join an expanding team of health care professionals to deliver a high standard of urgent and routine healthcare to our patients. We can offer opportunities for career progression (clinical specialist interest e.g. GPSI) and /or roles with a leadership focus.
Solent GP Surgery is a 17,000 patient surgery with 3 sites in Southampton; we endeavour to keep clinicians on one site with occasional cross cover. We are run by Solent NHS Trust which gives us financial resilience and the opportunity to trial new ways of working by involving community staff. The clinical and management team work closely together with decisions being made jointly.
We run an urgent same day service that is team based led by GPs and 8 ANPs alongside physiotherapists. We have a prescribing Pharmacist who is able to assist with medication reviews and queries. Our Community Wellbeing Team which assists with our housebound patients is currently being expanded with a Proactive Clinical Lead, a Practice Nurse and a Healthcare Assistant.
We score highly on QOF and offer enhanced services such as minor surgery, joint injections and diabetic clinics. We are committed to helping our GPs fulfil their personal development plans with a generous study leave budget and opportunities to develop clinical and leadership skills.
We can offer:
The same level of indemnity cover as hospital doctors (Crown indemnity)
15 minute appointments as standard
A fair equal share of day to day admin work with an emphasis on teamwork.
No individual patient lists
32 days annual leave (for GPs working 10 sessions)
Financial support for external courses
Support from senior GP colleagues
If you are committed to the future of primary care and want to be part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals working to improve the health of the local population, please contact us to arrange a visit. Please contact Ann Spooner on ann.spooner@solent.nhs.uk
