Lifestyle Medicine (portfolio) GP Vacancy x2 – Modality Partnership Birchwood Medical Practice Horley
Job Overview
Modality Partnership has a vacancy for a salaried GP / Partner with an interest in lifestyle medicine to assist us in the delivery and expansion of our already established and successful dietary Diabetes Reversal Programme. Practical experience in lifestyle medicine is not an absolute requirement as you will be mentored by Dr Ann-Marie Newbon, who would be also supported by Modality Partners who are subject matter experts in therapeutic carbohydrate restriction with an international profile having spoken at various lifestyle conferences; their interview on Diet Doctor can be seen here: https://www.dietdoctor.com/bringing-low-carb-people
We are seeking dedicated postholders to join our team who can display our CARE values: Commitment, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
This job is suitable for individuals who are compassionate, patient focused and have a real passion for working in a GP super-partnership, implementing solutions, delivering key organisational priorities and who are committed to make real changes to the health care services provided within Primary Care to improve patient care.
The job is not suitable to people who are not resilient to working in a fast-paced environment, making key business decisions, working flexibly in line with ever changing demands in Primary Care and the wider NHS. If you are interested in learning more, please read on.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work 4-6 sessions of core primary care clinical work and 1-2 sessions of lifestyle medicine/organisation development work. The role is a patient centred one although there is an opportunity to work remotely for some sessions. We are planning Diabetes Reivews being delivered via virtual and face to face group consultations. We will provide you with the supervision necessary to safely lead group consultations. You will be trained in facilitating a holistic approach to patient health and well-being, emphasising the importance of movement, sleep, stress management, diet and exercise. For those of you who are eligible we will support your application for a post-CCT Fellowship programme.
Overview of your organisation
We are one of the largest GP super-partnerships in the UK, serving over 450,000 patients and with a workforce of 1500+. We are unique, we are always looking at ways to improve our delivery of services through the implementation of new and innovative solutions that we can scale across the organisation.
We are flexible and welcome salaried GP and Salaried GP with special interest applications. All employees are welcome to enrol in our employee benefits scheme and NHS pension scheme. We are committed to developing our people through education and career pathways aligned to our organisational values of CARE.
Job Description
You will love this job if you have a passion for providing excellent patient care, prefer not to automatically reach for the prescription pad, enjoy thinking outside the box, are innovative and are driven to find and implement creative solutions to improve the way we deliver care in General Practice. You will be part of a national partnership where there is resilience from a large team of GP Partners who provide support where it is needed. We strongly encourage GP specialities and have opportunities for teaching and training.
You will hate this job if you are seeking a role that focuses purely on following guidelines rigidly and over-medicating patients.
If you feel this is the ideal career advancing opportunity for you and you want to rise to the challenge of this opportunity, we welcome an application for you to join our growing team of likeminded people.
