Job purpose: To work closely with the Office Manager and Executive board to provide administration for the organisation to ensure smooth and sufficient running of the LLR LMC office.

Organisation overview:

LMC is a non-profit making trade association recognised by statute as the local professional body responsible for providing advice, support and representation for individual GP practices, specifically GPs and their Practice Managers.

LLR LMC covers a population of 1,050,000 people and provides support to the GPs in three local CCGs with 136 practices covering over 600 General Practitioners.

The role requires providing comprehensive administrative support and being a key member within a small team. To ensure we are supporting general practice within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland including engagement with GPs and Practice Managers, and individuals working at the three CCGs, NHS England, other regional and national LMCs, the General Practitioner Committee (GPC) of the BMA.

Core duties:

Administration:

  • Take on the responsibility for key administrative tasks including being the first point of call for our members by email, phone and website enquiries.
  • To develop, maintain and update the organisations database and filing systems.
  • Maintain the office equipment e.g. liaising with suppliers to provide photocopying readings.
  • Formulate agenda and papers for the weekly executive meetings including note taking.
  • Work with senior colleagues to formulate monthly board meeting and weekly executive meeting by formulating the agenda and papers, as well as being able to take minutes at meetings.

Comms and marketing:

  • Draft guidance for the website based on key issues and themes which will be beneficial to our members
  • Co-ordinate and develop the LMC monthly E-newsletter and annual report
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the organisations website and social media networks

Additional areas of work:

  • Support and play an active part in the delivery of the LMC event schedule
  • Supporting the Office Manager to deliver tasks/projects in line with the organisations priorities.
  • To have a flexible approach based on demand, as well as being able to travel to different locations across Leicester/Leicestershire
  • To attend and support evening meetings/events
