Could you offer ‘something different’ with your portfolio of skills? An opportunity has arisen to join our team in this beautiful seaside town on the west coast of the Isle of Man.
We have a list size of just over 8550 patients and work from smart purpose-built premises. We have excellent clerical staff, a community health team on site and the working environment is friendly and supportive. We were high QOF achievers before this was dropped from our contract, currently have an excellent reputation with the Prescribing Advisory Team and are proud to be one of the training practices on the island - a reflection of the quality of both the administration and the personnel within the practice.
Our workload at Peel Medical Centre is varied. We offer minor surgery (including vasectomies), IUD and coil insertion, medical student, foundation doctor and GP training and we also do clinics at the Isle of Man Prison. There are no extended hours in GP surgeries on the Isle of Man, no requirement to be involved in out of hours care, and no visits from the Care Quality Commission.
We are a small community of GPs who know each other well, with a growing educational structure, protected learning time and a robust appraisal system, hopefully making for minimal revalidation stress in the years to come.
Financially, the pay scales are the same as the UK, but with a much more favourable cap on Income Tax.
The Isle of Man is a beautiful self- governing crown dependency in the middle of the Irish Sea. There are excellent air and ferry links to the United Kingdom and Ireland and there are top class state and private schools and plenty of facilities for sports and recreation.
We are able to offer a part time or full time post, sessions negotiable. The post will become available on end Feb but we are prepared to wait for the right candidate.
