We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Minor Illness Clinician to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary primary care team at Amherst Medical Practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality care in a busy general practice setting.
About the Role:
As a Minor Illness Clinician, you will be responsible for providing immediate care to patients presenting with a range of minor illnesses. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and timely care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients presenting with minor illnesses such as colds, flu, rashes, infections, and musculoskeletal complaints.
- Prescribing treatments, medications, and providing appropriate advice on self-care.
- Offering patients health promotion advice and education to prevent illness and manage chronic conditions.
- Referring patients to other healthcare professionals or services when necessary.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with practice policies and regulatory standards.
About You:
We are looking for a clinician with:
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Paramedic Practitioner (HCPC registered).
- Previous experience in a similar role within general practice or urgent care is essential.
- Independent Prescribing Qualification is desirable.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients.
- Commitment to patient-centred care and a holistic approach to healthcare.
- Ability to manage a busy workload while maintaining a high standard of care.
- EMIS Web experience desirable
