General Practitioner – Salaried - Fixed term 1 year (Maternity cover)
6 sessions per week Start date: March- April 2025 (Some flexibility Feb-April start)
We are a 5 GP partner, semi-rural, non-dispensing practice located in the beautiful market town of Stokesley (between Middlesbrough and Northallerton), on the border of the North Yorkshire Moors.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our close-knit and well-established multidisciplinary team for a period of one year to cover maternity leave. We are looking to appoint someone to work 6 sessions over 3 days.
Potentially there may be a permanent position available after the year and this will be discussed and looked at prior to the end of the fixed term.

The practice recently underwent a major £1.9million building refurbishment giving us purpose-built premises to provide excellent healthcare for the 21st century.

Main duties and clinical responsibilities:
- A variety of duties as per any GP working within primary care, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, triaging calls as part of duty Doctor role, home visits, checking and signing of electronic repeat prescriptions and dealing with paperwork and correspondence.
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Developing care plans for health, alongside our patients.
- Management of common chronic medical conditions.
- Referring patients for further opinions and interventions according to practice protocols.
- Maintaining quality accurate patient computer records including consultation notes to agreed standards
- Involvement in practice audits
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
Essential
- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
- Annual appraisal and revalidation when appropriate
- Enhanced CRB check
- UK driving licence
- Current CPR certificate
- UK work permit if required

- Evidence of continued professional development

This role will require the successful candidate to share home visiting and the Duty Doctor role in practice, alongside the GP Partners.
