Salaried GP - Fixed term contract – Milborne Port Surgery

Back to the Jobs list

We are looking for a salaried GP to work 4 half day sessions per week on a 12 month fixed term basis. A shorter fixed term contract of 6 months or more could be considered for the right candidate.

The employment will commence in early January 2025 (starting date negotiable).

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working in a beautiful area of the country with the potential for ongoing work in our practice or in neighbouring practices.

Main duties of the job

Provision of face to face, telephone and online consultations and dealing with routine administration associated with day to day work (e.g. handling results, documents and prescribing administration). Occasional home visits (we have very few!).

In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

We are looking for a candidate who fits in well with the ethos of the practice. Our priorities are good patient care and teamwork. We look after each other and share the workload.

Applications are welcomed from experienced and recently qualified GPs.

Our surgeries are based on a phone/online-first approach, bringing in the patients that need to be seen face to face and allocating yourself the appropriate amount of time for the patient's condition. This facilitates good access, quality care, continuity, and sensible appointment timings.

Support from our wider team means GP home visits are relatively few and time-consuming tasks such as interactions with other providers are largely taken care of by non-GP members of the team, allowing you to focus on patient care.

Informal visits are welcomed.

Applicants must have full GMC registration and be on the Medical Performers List for England.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Applications by email to Mrs Katharine Russen, Practice Manager: katharine.russen@nhs.net

Alternatively, apply via NHS Jobs (Ref A3701-24-0004).
