Minehead Medical Centre is looking for dedicated Experienced GPs to join us on a permanent basis.
In February 2024, OneMedical Group took over Minehead Medical Centre. We are working closely with the team and local stakeholders to improve and develop the service, something that all the GP colleagues joining will be immediately involved in. It's an exciting time to join us, as the service continues its transformational journey.
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated GPs to help ensure the safe, effective and compliant delivery of services to all our patients. As a team we’re passionate about what we do, making sure that patients are receiving the best care possible and in the right way for them. OneMedical Group is happy to support you with any area of interest. However, given the patients' average age, a background or passion for geriatric and/or end-of-life care would be ideal.
We don't work in sessions, which can be confusing. The full-time equivalent for us is 40 hours per week. However, we will also consider par-time jobs. We offer 15-minute appointments and patient contacts capped at 25 per day.

What you’ll work on
• A mix of telephone, face to face and home visit appointments
• Understand the patient population to be able to provide high quality care to patients
• Undertake both planned and urgent primary care as required
• Provide patient focussed, evidence-based practice to a high standard
• Supporting the wider MDT to ensure patients with long term and/or complex health conditions are cared for at the right time, by the right clinician
What we’re looking for
- An individual registered with the GMC and on the GP Specialty register
- Experienced GP with a background in either primary or urgent care
- A GP who is on the performers list
- Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills across all levels of the business
- Excellent organisational skills
- A patient, compassionate and empathetic individual
About Minehead Medical Centre
Minehead Medical Centre (MMC) is a vibrant central hub for the town, with a dedicated team as close-knit as the rest of Minehead's population. Minehead Medical Centre is the only GP service in the area. The other two GP surgeries are located much further out on the outskirts. The patient list size is 12,300 with a slightly higher number of aging population when compared to the rest of Somerset. In recent years, Minehead Medical Centre has undergone refurbishment works to provide additional clinical rooms on the ground floor. Minehead is a coastal town in Somerset, lying on the south bank of the Bristol Channel and within easy reach of Bristol, Taunton, and Yeovil. The town is surrounded by beautiful scenery, Exmoor national park, and some fantastic walks and cycle routes.
