OAKMEADOW SURGERY

 

GP Administrator-Temporary position for 6 months with the possibility of becoming a permanent position.

This is an exciting opportunity for the ‘right’ person who wants to work supporting people by coordinating their health and social care services.  Based in a GP Practice, the GP Administrator will be involved in supporting the clinical team.

The ideal candidate should:

· Have experience working in a similar role.

· Have working knowledge of GP systems such as Systemone.

· Able to demonstrate competent computer, writing and communication skills, you should be familiar with commonly used programme such as word, excel, internet browsers and email, some basic medical knowledge would be useful (however not essential).

· Able to think outside of the box, problem solving and work under pressure.

· Be a supportive team player with good communication skills.

· Willing to help support the team and cover for annual leave or absence.

Your duties may be modified from time to time to suit the needs of the business.  In order for the Practice to operate effectively, you are expected to be flexible in your approach to work and to undertake different tasks consistent with your ability and training when required.

Key Role Requirement Responsibilities

GP Administrator:

· To have a thorough knowledge of all practice policies and procedures

· To work in accordance of written protocols

· Filing patient records and correspondence when necessary.

· Opening and distribution and stamp dating all of practice post.

· Registering patients following the Registration Protocol.

· To send letters to patients as necessary.

· Photocopying of notes and other information (this includes: ensuring enough forms are printed or    photocopied: consent forms, CITA, appointment card, change of details etc.).

· Changing details on System One i.e. Change of address, telephone numbers etc.

· Advising patients of relevant charges for private services

· Checking tasks daily

· Dealing with telephone queries

· Summarising records

· Health and Safety walk around/Legionella’s monthly water temp

· Booking Learning Disability reviews

· PCSE Ordering forms/Downloading GMS3 Forms

· Helping with QOF

· Booking PIC GP appointments

· Booking LD Check appointments

· Read code clinical letters

· Coroners reports

· Electronic referrals

· Prism referrals

· Composing/corresponding emails

· Medical notes / handling post

· Safeguarding reports

· Cover for Reception.
