We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic GP to join our friendly, well-established team.
Situated in the town of Belper (9 miles north of Derby), we serve a population of just over 12,500 patients. We are in a modern, purpose-built premises with free parking and disabled access. We have an attached (independent) pharmacy unit on-site. We are within easy commute of Derby and Nottingham and are situated on the edge of the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District.
We are looking for start date in the New Year but could be sooner for the right candidate and would welcome applications from experienced GPs, newly qualified GPs or 3rd year GPRs that are due to qualify this year. You must have excellent clinical and communication skills and an active interest in teaching and training as you will be involved in the supervision of medical students and GP Registrars. If you have an area of special interest, we will actively encourage and support you in this.
You will be responsible for core work such as assessment, diagnosis, treatment and onward referral of patients. You will have responsibility for a practice list of patients, take part in core hours and there is an option to be involved in extended hours. You will take part in the triage and on call rota, on a pro-rata basis to your number of clinical sessions.
Our sessions consist of a mix of telephone calls and face to face appointments with a low visiting rate thanks to the PCN home visiting team. Protected time for meetings and trainee debriefs is built into your day.
We are fortunate to work as part of the Belper PCN which comprises 4 local practices: Appletree, Arthur, Riversdale and Whitemoor. We work closely and collaboratively and the PCN has successfully recruited a large number of staff who work across the practices adding an invaluable skill mix and much needed additional appointments.

• Social Prescribers
• Mental Health Nurse
• Nurse Associates
• Care Co-ordinators
• A home visiting service
• Extended access appointments at a local hub
We have formal responsibility for five care homes.
We are a Systmone practice and have developed innovative systems to safely manage and reduce the administrative workload for GPs. We consistently achieve high QOF results.
