We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic GP to join our very busy, friendly team.
Situated in the semi-rural village of Duffield (5 miles north of Derby), we serve a population of just over 11,100 patients. We are in a modern, purpose-built premises with free parking and disabled access. We have an attached (independent) pharmacy unit on-site. We also operate from a small branch surgery in the neighbouring village of Little Eaton. We are within easy commute of Derby and Nottingham and are situated close to the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District.
We are flexible on start date and would welcome applications from experienced GPs, newly qualified GPs or 3rd year GPRs that are due to qualify this year. You must have excellent clinical and communication skills and an active interest in teaching and training as you will be involved in the supervision of medical students and GP Registrars. If you have an area of special interest, we will actively encourage and support you in this.
You will be responsible for core work such as assessment, diagnosis, treatment and onward referral of patients. You will have responsibility for a practice list of patients, take part in core hours and there is an option to be involved in extended hours. You will take part in the triage and on call rota, on a pro-rata basis to your number of clinical sessions.
Our sessions consist of a mix of 10-minute telephone calls and 15-minute face to face appointments with protected time for online consultations, meetings and trainee debriefs.
We are fortunate to work as part of the Belper PCN which comprises 4 local practices: Arthur, Riversdale, Whitemoor and Appletree. We work closely and collaboratively and the PCN has successfully recruited a large number of staff who work across the practices adding an invaluable skill mix and much needed additional appointments. For GPs looking for more than 4 sessions, there may be an opportunity to do additional sessions for our Home Visit Service Team Up.

We have formal responsibility for four care homes as well as a residential home for adults requiring specialist care and support.
We are a Systmone practice and have developed innovative systems to safely manage and reduce the administrative workload for GPs. We consistently achieve high QOF results.
