An exciting opportunity has arisen for a GP Partner to join our well established, hardworking, and dedicated team. We are able to be flexible on the number of weekly sessions and would consider applications between 4 and 7 per week.

Perfectly located on the Devon/Somerset border in an area of outstanding natural beauty The Blackdown Practice is situated in the Village of Hemyock with Branch sites in the villages of Churchinford and Dunkeswell. We are a Dispensing Practice offering Dispensary services from all three sites.

General Practice across Devon and Somerset is of a high standard, making it a great place to work and live. Our vision is to deliver high quality healthcare to our patients, by a highly skilled, motivated, and constantly improving team, supported in a nurturing environment.

The Blackdown Practice is a 7 Partner PMS teaching practice caring for 8,265 patients with a varied demographic in a mainly rural setting. Our doctors are supported by a dedicated team of nurses, admin staff and managers. Utilising the PCN DES we have been fortunate to recruit a paramedic, pharmacist, pharmacy technician, social prescribers, first contact physiotherapists and a mental health practitioner. We are a teaching practice who regularly have Registrars in the practice and if training is of interest to you, there would be scope to become a trainer if you’d like to be. Due to the combined efforts of our excellent clinical and admin teams we achieve high QOF targets and were rated ‘outstanding’ by CQC in our last inspection. We work in alliance with other practices in the area and play an active part in the Culm Valley PCN.

We utilise Emis, ardens and accurx to support our practice & patients.

The wellbeing of our staff is of the utmost importance and a good work life balance is something that, as a partnership, we value highly. Team meetings are held regularly, and our practice environment has been designed to encourage contact and support within and across all staff groups.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic GP to join our small and happy team who has the commitment and passion to drive efficiencies and quality of care for our patients. Ideally, we are seeking a GP Partner; that said, we would consider applications for a salaried position with a view to partnership..
