We are able to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our friendly and welcoming team at Oakhill Surgery. We are a unique, small rural practice in Somerset and we would love to offer you the chance to apply to join us as a practice nurse with an interest in both pro-active chronic disease management as well as dynamic and variable day-to-day nursing for our varied population groups.

The successful candidate will be registered with the NMC and need to be flexible enough to work effectively within a team as well as independently. The candidate should demonstrate very good communication skills and be able to use their skills and experience to compliment the rest of our primary care team of GPs, HCA, Physio, pharmacists, dispensers and school health-centre nurses.
Specific duties will include:
Chronic disease reviews - The successful candidate would ideally have the relevant chronic-disease qualifications such as in Diabetes, Asthma and COPD. Although we will happily consider those without this experience who are keen to expand their knowledge and qualifications.
Immunisations for adults and children
Wound care
Cervical screening
Experience in female health care and family planning would also be advantageous
Oakhill Surgery is a small village practice of approximately 3000 patients just outside Shepton Mallet, in beautiful Somerset countryside near Frome and Bath. We have consistently excellent patient feedback and strongly value inclusive, evidence-guided and personalised care.
