We are looking for a matermity locum to join our team to cover for a salaried GP position. Our practice is small, 4800 patients, and friendly with 2 GP Partners (Dr Richard Simpson and Dr Kate Haslam), a salaried GP, a GP retainer and a GP trainee. We are in a semi-rural location being on the edge of and within the New Forest. We sit on the border of Hampshire and Dorset and have staff members who easily commute in from a wide local area.

The main site is in Bransgore with a branch surgery in Burley where we have a small dispensary. We are a training practice and would be happy for any candidate to be involved in this or any other aspects of a portfolio career. Our focus has always been to provide high quality personalised care but with an aim to maintain a healthy work life balance and job satisfaction for all of our staff. We have regular clinical and team meetings.

We have had a “good” CQC rating last year (with some areas outstanding) and score very highly in patient satisfaction surveys (This practice has scored higher than their ICS average in every question). We actively participate in working alongside our colleagues within the Avon Valley Primary Care Network, which has enabled us to have access to additional roles provision in MSK and Pharmacy Teams.

Practice Overview (gp-patient.co.uk)

The role would be for 4-6 sessions spread over the week with a flexible working pattern available with a competitive sessional rate. Annual leave and study leave in line standard contracts. The number of sessions and the timing of these can be tailored to suit and we would look to offer a one year contract, but shorter terms may also be accomodated.

In accordance with the practice rota, and as agreed, the post holder would make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. We use the SystemOne computer system.

To express and interest or to arrange a chat please contact our manager – Annie James ( annie.james@nhs.net or 01425 674047).

Our current salaried GP would be more than happy to discuss their role and responsibilites with anyone interested.
