Main duties of the job
The working week at Littlewick will be a mix of urgent care and routine pre-bookable appointments, both telephone and face to face with a mix of ten- and fifteen-minute appointment lengths. We have scheduled tea breaks morning and afternoon to facilitate wellbeing and teambuilding. We also have minor operations/ joint injection clinics, LARC clinics and dermatoscopy clinics. We have a diverse clinical team including partners, salaried GPs, ANPs, PNs, HCAs, Clinical pharmacist, pharmacy technician. We are high Qof achievers and use systm1 and Ardens templates for ease of data entry. We have robust systems in place for document and pathlinks processing to minimise unnecessary admin for our clinicians.
About us
We are part of Erewash PCN which is a well-developed PCN with a wide range of services already established for instance, First contact Physio, care coordinators, social prescribers, Team up! and a large pharmacist team. We also have 2 chaplains that can provide support to patients and staff that are going through difficult times.
EHP provides all the extended hours access, acute home visiting, and on day service (for acute same day needs) through a hub model which is staffed independently of the practices. This means the role has no expectation for evening or weekend working, and very few visits freeing lunchtimes up for lunch and admin.
How we can support your career development.
We have regular salaried GP liaison meetings to ensure all our clinicians feel part of the team, are informed on any changes and can contribute to modelling the practice. We actively encourage our salaried colleagues to take on lead roles within the practice and support the necessary training and time for this. We support our GP colleagues with in-house mentorship and career development opportunities, taking advantage of the wide range of outward facing roles the partners hold. We can offer Tier 2 sponsorship.
Many of the partners have outward facing roles, for example ICS deputy medical director, LMC, PCN CD, Executive partner for EHP, ICS clinical leads, GP Training, GP appraisals and are keen to support colleagues who are looking for a more portfolio career.
