Pontcae Medical Practice
Come and join us at Pontcae Surgery, Merthyr Tydfil!
Situated just off the A470 and so a straightforward, easy commute from Cardiff or Swansea.
The surgery sits in a convenient location next to the town center and on the Taff Trail for a lunchtime walk, or a short trip up to Cyfarthfa Retail Park for lunch or some retail therapy.
We are a close knit team at the surgery that boasts dedicated and long-standing staff members.
We have 5 dynamic and supportive GP partners with a wide range of interests you can learn from.
Our partners are also GP Trainers and we are a recognised Advanced GP training practice, supporting GP colleagues in their return to work.
One of our GP partners was previously a RCGP examiner.
With this in mind, we provide a supportive working environment to all our clinicians through informal mentorship, and encourage problem sharing and discussion at morning coffee break and lunch time.
We have 2 GPs who are members of the LMC, one of whom is the Medical Director and a member of GPC Wales.
We have a GP and our Practice Manager working for the local GP Collaborative and Merthyr Tydfil Cluster.
Our current list size is 12,500 patients
We have a dedicated GP out doing house calls in the morning, so there is no daily house call commitment for all.
We offer a range of appointments to our patients including face to face, telephone and eConsult (most of our med3 requests are dealt with via eConsult and we have a dedicated secretary for eConsult admin daily)
We use Vision System, Docman for workflow and Lexacom for referrals.
