Replacement GP, salaried or partner full or part-time – Hirwaun Medical Centre

Following the retirement of the former Senior Partner we are seeking to future- proof our approach to practicing general medicine. We are looking for salaried part- or fulltime GPs or part/fulltime partners to cover a total of 9 sessions. Whether you are at the beginning of your career, seek a change, or are considering stepping down from a partnership in order to rebalance work and family life, we are open minded, very sympathetic and flexible with regards to hours, terms and conditions. There is no financial obligation.
We are a 3-partner GMS practice with just over 6200 patients close to the Brecon Beacons and within easy commuting distance to Cardiff, Swansea or Brecon. We occupy a modern purpose-built surgery with no financial buy-in commitments and use EMIS-Web. Our team consists of (currently) 2fulltime GPs partners (9+ sessions each), locums and our practice manager, 2 nurses and one excellent and indispensable HCA who also provides IT-support; our lovely receptionist team is multi-tasking, friendly and supportive with a refreshing (and essential) sense of humour and extremely hard-working and efficient; we could not ask for a better team. We cooperate within a progressive Cluster/Collaborative structure and its excellent and innovative MDT (Virtual Ward). We are supported by cluster-funded teams providing direct access to counselling and physiotherapy and have an excellent Cluster Pharmacist, on whom we can count on for advice and support. We cover the usual array of GMS services and would be more than happy to accommodate special interest areas. We have just taken on Shared Care for Rheumatology / DMARDS and already provide anticoagulant services with NPT for VKA and DOAC (including initiation).
Continuity of care in an increasingly fragmented and pressurised NHS has become even more important in the wake of the Covid-pandemic and the ongoing fall-out from the lockdowns. We want to continue to provide the best medical care for our patients and believe that “continuity of care” is an indispensable and vital element and are not prepared to compromise on the quality of our care.
We welcome the multidisciplinary team approach to patient care as important and effective but also believe that it cannot be a substitute for proper general practitioner care, experience and leadership. The vacancy is available now, but we are flexible with regards to starting dates. We welcome and invite any informal enquiries or visits.
