Salaried/ Retainer GP – relocation support available

Church View Surgery are seeking GPs to join our friendly team this autumn. One of our partners is relocating and we also have some maternity leave to cover, so can offer permanent or fixed term sessions. We are a modern and forward thinking practice, with a hugely supportive ethos, and we regularly get great feedback from visiting health professionals about our helpful and capable staff.

We pride ourselves in providing excellent care to 12,500 patients in Plymstock, a suburb to the east of Plymouth on the South West coast. We have a “good” CQC rating, a consistent record of very high QOF achievement, and a great record of providing continuity of care. Our premises are purpose built and partner owned. We offer a competitive salary (starting at £10,000 per session, depending on your special interests) and dedicated admin time to doctors who hold lists. We are Tier 2 visa sponsors, and would love to speak to international graduates who require sponsorship in their new post. If you are moving from outside Devon and Cornwall we can offer a funded relocation visit and an additional paid session for your first 6 months, to support you in settling down in this beautiful part of the world.

We are tackling the many challenges facing Primary Care with enthusiasm, good humour and teamwork. With one of our partners as Clinical Director, we are very active in our Primary Care Network, and benefit enormously from working closely with the supportive colleagues in our neighbouring practices. We have expanded our MDT, and are pleased to be working with paramedics, physiotherapists, a pharmacist, a specialist MSK practitioner, social prescribers and a health & wellbeing coach to address the whole range of our patients’ needs. We are also actively working on a project to create an integrated Primary Care Centre in our neighbourhood, that will bring the whole team together in a purpose built centre.

We have worked very hard in the last few years to provide the best possible support to our GP team, and have a range of measures in place to ensure that GP work/ life balance is as good as we can make it. We are happy to talk about flexible working hours, including regular working from home. We are very open to recruiting GPs from diverse backgrounds, and recognise the huge value that diversity brings to our workplace and hence to our patients. We have several trainers in our practice, and are experienced in supporting newly qualified GPs, including through the New to Practice Fellowship, and in regular attendance at First Five meetings.

We are a practice that is big enough to support your special interests and aptitudes, but small enough to be able to adapt quickly, maintain strong personal relationships, and get things done. Please call if you would like to talk about the role you would like to create for yourself. Please contact GP Partner Dr Bethan Shewring ( b.shewring@nhs.net ), or Emma Rayment, Business Partner, on 01752 495517, or via emmarayment@nhs.net
