6 -12 MONTH MATERNITY GP LOCUM COVER – Abbeywell Surgery

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team at Abbeywell Surgery in Romsey for 6 months to cover our lovely salaried GP's maternity leave. We are looking to cover 4 - 8 sessions a week from August 2022 (perfect for those of you CCT'ing at this time!). At the end of the 6 months, there will be the opportunity to discuss taking on a permanent role at Abbeywell (salaried or partner), or to continue in the maternity locum role for another 6 months. We are a team who like to look after each other and have a daily scheduled mid-morning break to catch up. We appreciate our staff and offer plenty of morale boosting initiatives including a staff ‘thank you’ scheme, birthday annual leave, wellbeing events and staff parties. • 2 sites in central Romsey with circa 19,000 patients • 7 x GP Partners, 2 x Salaried GPs, 3 x GP Retainers, 2 x ANPs • Enthusiastic GPs - younger than the national average • EMIS Web & Docman 10 • 'Good' CQC rating • In-house referral protocol on EMIS, giving easy access to referral letter templates (better than Ardens!) • Routine day is 25 x 15 minute appointments (mixture of face-to-face and telephone consultations) and no extras • GP need to visit is very rare thanks to the PCN Home Visiting Service run by our experienced community paramedics • No EPS thanks to dedicated admin GP, who also looks at results on the days you are not in • Close working with the PCN and helpful access to Social Prescribing Link Workers, First Contact Practitioners, Mental Health Practitioners, and Clinical Pharmacists • Established training practice with GP registrars, F2s and medical students • Successful research practice • Quality filter coffee (sourced from a small business), and premium tea bags! We are offering a competitive salary of £11-12k (negotiable) per session. We would arrange for you to have a week's formal induction. You would be expected to carry out your fair share of admin including results and Docman. You would also be rota’ed to be part of the duty team (the system of which was recently successfully revamped), which is well supported with at least 3 x GPs all-day. If you would like to discuss the role informally or arrange a time to visit our practice, please contact either: Dr Anthony Mah, GP Partner at anthony.mah@nhs.net or Hannah Beauchamp, Practice Manager at h.beauchamp@nhs.net
