Feedback

Some of the feedback we’ve had from our employees include:

‘Pen-Y-Cae is a very happy, friendly, supportive, patient centred Practice that is appreciated by the majority of patients - most thank you when they leave and talk about their past contacts with the Practice in a positive way. The clinical team is very experienced and clinical problems are dealt with within the resources available and not left for other GP’s/ other days and therefore work feels more controlled and as a clinician you feel the patients are safe. Lastly the unique thing about Pen-Y-Cae surgery is that due to excellent leadership the whole team works together - the admin team are amazing in terms of knowledge and their energy, and everyone has a sense of humour. It is usual for everyone to sit down for lunch and share their day. Also, our team huddle is quite unique being daily - most practices have a fixed day for educational meetings or not at all and with part time working etc works better more frequently for different members of team to meet.’

‘I resigned from the practice where I had been for 20 years, 5 years ago. I did a locum at PyC and was quite impressed, but it wasn’t until I worked in several other places over the next couple of years that I really appreciated how good they are. The practice is very well run with excellent professional standards and clinical governance. I feel confident in my professional colleagues, both doctors and nurses; if I have started managing a patient, I feel happy they will be looked after well if I am not there. Simple things like computer notes opening straight into a main page with an up-to-date problem list; the fact that all doctors go through the pathology results first thing and make follow up arrangements; and regular discussions with colleagues, all add to a feeling of competence. The whole practice team are easy to work with and the receptionists are the best I have seen anywhere.

Ebbw Vale is not a glamorous area, but it is expanding considerably and there will be a great opportunity here for ambitious professionals to join a forward-thinking practice with considerable scope for growth in the future’.
