Due to a large growth in patient numbers, we are seeking 2 cheerful, capable and hardworking receptionist/administrators to join our friendly team at our modern GP practice in the south of Cardiff.
Grange Medical Practice is a large purpose-built surgery in the south of the city, caring for over 11000 patients across Grangetown, Cardiff Bay, Canton and Riverside. Our clinical team includes 7 GPs, 3 practice nurses, and a HCA together with a community midwife, health visitor, physiotherapist and frailty nurse. We are a training practice, providing support to trainee GPs and medical students.
The receptionist/administrator role is varied and busy. It includes the managing of the practice reception area - meeting and greeting patients and checking them in for appointments, handling repeat prescription requests and solving a range of patient queries. Together with your colleagues you will handle all telephone calls into the practice, booking and canceling appointments, taking messages for GPs, and handling enquiries from pharmacies, nursing homes, district nurses and secondary care.
You will be required to fulfill a variety of administrative tasks – taking registration requests from new patients, managing repeat prescriptions, filing and merging patient records and dealing with a variety of post and general office administration.
We are looking for a positive and friendly team player, who enjoys working with the public. Good communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure is a must, as is a good telephone manner and confident computer skills.
Full training will be given.
