Are you looking to join a proactive team of GPs who support one another, will treat you as an equal member of the team, and help you develop your skills and career?
Then you should come and talk to us!
A bit about Park View Surgery
We are a 7,600 patient GMS practice based close to Loughborough town centre, within easy access of Nottingham, Derby and Leicester and the surrounding areas.
We have 4 Partners who get on with one another, have a strong team ethos and provide a supportive environment.
We are innovative and always evolving to try and improve the care for our patients and the colleagues we work with. We are helping to shape the future of primary care in the area through active involvement in our Federation and PCN.
We operate a telephone triage model with appropriate time to see patients face to face as required. We have streamlined the way we deal with test results and reviewed our document management process significantly reducing paperwork to GPs.
We are a learning and supportive practice, and to back this up we:
- Train Registrars and teach medical students from both Leicester and Nottingham Medical Schools
- Monthly Clinical Education Sessions delivered by clinicians in the practice on various topics of interest
- Hold regular in-house and external training sessions
- Organise regular social events for the whole practice team
Our reception team are trained to ask the right questions of patients and direct them to the most appropriate service or clinician whether in-house or external, to reduce the pressure on our doctors.
This is supported by our multidisciplinary team, which includes:
- Three Practice Nurses, including a Minor Illness and prescribing nurse
- Health care assistant and phlebotomist
- GPs with varying specialist interests
- Practice pharmacist - to move routine medication reauthorisation and reviews away from GPs
- Social Prescriber – to help move those social, non-medical issues away from GP appointments
- MSK First Contact Physiotherapist
We support one another when on-call, have protected “Emergency” slots to book patients into and use the local Home Visiting service to reduce the need for GP visits.
Our plans for the future include:
- Premises re-design or relocation to make our surgery building amongst the best in the area
- Delivery of community services for LPT e.g. vasectomies, ocular plastics, gynae services etc.
What do we have to offer you?
Fairness and equity - all our GPs do the same amount of work (pro rata) in terms of:
- On calls
- Prescribing
- Pathology results
- Paper work
We offer a competitive salary, 6 weeks annual leave and 1 week study leave (including paid for annual GP update)
A supportive environment:
- We have an open-door policy for all clinicians, for a second opinion (even in the middle of surgery) if one is ‘not sure.’
- A protected morning break where all GPs meet to discuss both clinical and social matters.
- Participate in the training of registrars and medical students, all in protected time.
- A self-reflecting team of Partners – we encourage and value open, honest, and constructive feedback, and are always seeking to learn, improve and do better.
- A fun place to work where staff morale is high.
The doctors genuinely get on with one another, and we even talk to one another about non work related things!
