Glemsford Surgery is a GP partnership that in April 2020 became a part of West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (WSFT) following a model of ‘vertical integration’ pioneered in Wolverhampton. We are looking to recruit one or two GPs who either have an existing qualification or would like to develop a GP special interest and who will work flexibly between West Suffolk Hospital and Glemsford Surgery
Glemsford village is within easy reach of Cambridge (30 miles), Ipswich (25 miles), Bury St Edmunds (12 miles) and Sudbury (6 miles) and the practice has a list size of c. 5,000 patients. The surgery uses SystmOne software and benefits from a co-located but independently managed pharmacy, enabling clinical and patient access to in-house help and advice for medication issues.
The surgery currently employs 4 part-time GPs, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses, a Clinical Pharmacist, a First Care Practitioner and a Health Care Assistant.
As an employee of WSFT and member of the Glemsford Surgery team, you will be joining an exciting project with plans to explore and develop the integration of primary, community and secondary care through shared IT and governance systems, with opportunities to develop better patient pathways and enjoy enhanced access to the resources of the Trust for education, shared appointments and research.
