Back to the Jobs list

Beccles Medical Centre is a vibrant, innovative Practice by the River Waveney, a stone’s throw from beautiful sandy beaches on the Norfolk/Suffolk coast.

Much like other NHS services and General Practices, we are coming out of this pandemic with eyes blinking, feeling a bit bruised but ready for the next challenge. We are a forward thinking Practice and pride ourselves on being ahead of the game. ‘Thinking out of the box’ is our catchphrase and we are looking for an Emergency Care Practitioner who is ready to ride the train of ‘what’s next’ with us.

What do you get from us? Encouragement, support, flexibility and a business that listens, wants you to succeed and develop. We are part of a fully supportive and collaborative Primary Care Network, with a penchant for education in many different forms and a well-established training practice.

What do we need from you? A can-do attitude; embracing new ideas, a natural respect for all of our staff, a team approach and a driven belief that we within General Practice are the bedrock of the future of the health provision and promotion for our community within the new integrated care systems.

The soft (but really important) bit: The staff are awesome. There is strong managerial support and a very supportive peer group in place; twice daily reflection and learning opportunities, regular staff meetings and Partners who will encourage you. We have sausage roll Tuesdays, a Triathlon Team and parties in the summer (when there are no pandemics).Everyone’s door is always (metaphorically) open, and we encourage discussion and chat throughout the day.

The small print: We are currently 5 Partners strong, there are 6 other salaried GP’s in the team, 5 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 8 Nurses, 2 Clinical Pharmacists & 4 Paramedics who form our home visiting and Care Home Team, 2 HCA’s, Care Navigators and Data Quality staff – all brilliantly supported by 2 Care Coordination Managers, a Quality Improvement Manager and an Operational Lead. We also have our own dedicated Service Development Manager to support with taking the Practice forward and future proofing its success. As well as “bread and butter” General Practice, the team provide medical cover for a 16-bed intermediate care Hospital on campus, we also teach UEA students and Physician Associates.

Systems in Use: SystmOne, AccuRx, Footfall
