Medical Administrator – The clinic@78

The newly opened Clinic@78, in Westbourne, Bournemouth is looking for an experienced Medical Administrator to be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties will include but are not limited to, the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies and procedures. Duties will also include audit, transcribing clinical letters and clinical coding - experience of working in all of these areas is essential. This role involves working closely alongside and reporting to the Clinic Manager.

Hours: 18-22 per week

Salary range 25k pro rata

Summary of primary responsibilities:

The following are the core responsibilities of the medical administrator. There will be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as clinical need, workload and staffing levels:

a. Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required

b. Assisting with internal & external referrals

c. Liaising with external agencies such as medical professionals, hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently

d. Manage all enquires in an effective manner

e. Maintain an accurate referrals database

f. Input data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary

g. Process referrals using the Heydoc clinical management system

h. All administration associated with medically insured patients.

i. Clinical coding

j. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately

k. Manage all administrative queries as necessary

l. Carry out system searches as requested

m. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times

n. Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks and receptionist duties as requested

o. Design and completion of audit, both clinical and non-clinical

Part-time hours: 18-22 per week
