GP PARTNER Vacancy– Golden Handshake Scheme.
Distington Surgery, Cumbria.
Due to retirement we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Partner GP to join our friendly and supportive team. Post to be offered with the expectation that under the new GP contract it will attract the £20,000 golden handshake for GPs to take up partnership roles from April 2020. For the right candidate we are prepared to be flexible with 5 up to 7 sessions available (negotiable) offered as a salaried post for initial 6 months for mutual assessment.
We are a single site semi-rural practice with an outstanding CQC rating, serving 5200 patients, involved in local initiatives and part of the Copeland PCN. Our clinical team consists of 4 (part time) GP Partners (3 Trainers), 2 Salaried GPs, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 3 Practice Nurses, & 1 HCA. Via our PCN we also have a Paramedic visiting service, Social Prescribers & a Community Pharmacist.
We are situated within a small village, close to two local larger towns and of course the beautiful Lake District fells. Working from our owned building with onsite parking, we also have a well-organized and profitable dispensary on site.
We place a strong emphasis on education, training and support, with GP registrars, nurses and medical students, as well as apprentices. We enjoy working patterns that allow the development of special interests and portfolio work including GP appraisal, postgraduate education/GP training and leadership roles within the CCG. We would support a new partner to develop their interests or develop portfolio career.
Quality of life is important to us, we have 8 weeks holiday per year and structure our workload to support each other- our consultation slots are 15 minutes with a daily “huddle” incorporated into the working day and twice weekly clinical/management team meetings to encourage team working, sharing of information and to provide the best possible care for our patients.
