A rare and exciting opportunity has come up to join the Executive Team at Devon Local Medical Committee (LMC). We are a Professional Association which supports and represents general practice in the county with nationwide influence.
There are acute workforce challenges facing General Practice and as part of the LMC’s remit to support General Practice we are looking for a dynamic and engaging ‘self-starter’ with a passion for helping others and the energy and imagination to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders in order to understand the root cause of the workforce problems and then formulate a pragmatic plan to help improve the position in Devon and across the South West. Knowledge of the NHS, Primary Care and specifically General Practice is highly desirable as is an understanding of workforce planning and recruitment. But we are especially interested in you as a person and how you will fit into our team.
The role is brand new and initially is subject to a two year contract but part of the remit will be to establish your value and identify long term funding. You’ll be working as part of a small, professional and fun team, in a lovely countryside office near Exeter. You’ll regularly be visiting GP practices and stakeholders across the county and beyond so a driving licence is essential. You will also be expected to ‘muck in’ with the team and perform some daily basic office admin.
In return, you’ll receive an excellent package with a salary of £30,000 (FTE), generous annual leave entitlement and the option to join a company pension scheme. More information about the role is available in the job description attached. Applications are via CV and covering letter and should be emailed to bob.fancy@devonlmc.org. The closing date is 1000 on 4th November 2019. Candidates who successfully get through the sift will be informed on 7th November with Interviews taking place on 13th November, 2019. For an informal discussion about the position, contact Bob Fancy or Hannah Baxter on 01392 834020 or email bob.fancy@devonlmc.org.
